Whitby, while two Wed., Feb. 10th. One hundred and sixty- eight ladies registered, com- ing from the area between Port Hope and Ajax. The morning session was opened at 9:45 a.m. by Mrs. Douglas Redpath of Oshawa, the outgoing President of the past two years. After a delicious hot lun- cheon prepared and served by Port Perry U.C.W., the afternoon session was called to order, with the new Pre- sident, Mrs. Robert Sheffield, Oshawa, in the chair. Cornish Public School paid the Star a visit Thursday last week, They all seem to enjoy the conducted tour through the plant. Some were more curious than others and asked some pertinent questions at times. Wilson, low Ruth Graham. Martin Den Boer's car was stolen last week while he was visiting his sister, Arrianne in Toronto. When the police found the car it was almost completely destroyed by fire. Heather Burnfield of Port Perry spent a day recently with Karin Cummings. Debbie Larocque spent last Thursday night at Columbus with Joan and Ruth Smith. Brian Armstrong was 4 patient in Oshawa General Hospital last week. He was his nose. He returned home last Saturday. Last Wednesday the school bus that goes through Cedar Creek got stuck just south of Norman Wilsons. About 40 children walked as far as the Cumming's house with Brenda and Karin and stayed there for over an hour. Some of the presents came with snowmo- | biles and picked up some of the children. Then another | bus came and picked up the | rest. Norris Doherty won the Valentine box of candy at the Ridge View Store draw last week. Karin and Steven Cumm- ings are having birthdays this week. The Doherty twins, Donnie and Johnnie have their birthday this week too. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Laroc- que and children of Port Perry visited the Victor Larocque's having further treatment onj Friday evening. SEAGRAVE, ONT. Co ngratulations and best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Ar- thur Matthews (nee Margaret Fisher) whose marriage took place at Burns Presbyterian Church, Saturday, February 13th. Following the wed- ding reception in the church hall, some members of the wedding party and many guests were unable to reach their homes that night due to blizzard conditions. Many homes in Ashurn offered shelter to those who werr stranded. Several people have been confined to their homes dur- ing the past week with colds and flu.
