PORT PERRY CELEBRATION 1971 Port Perry is celebrating an important event, For those who own homes, and those who rent, Let us make this joyful, for one and all, To boast our Town and those who recall, The days of old, the improvements made, In this lovely Town by Seugog Lake. Organizations all around are planning ahead, To make merry, after all is said We should be proud of our nice neat Town, With its lovely homes, and stores all around. Let us contribute and make things hum, Lots of socials and lots of fun. Senior Citizens will try to help out too By putting on a Euchre at the Rink so please do Come and help the many events to come, A welcome to visitors and everyone. There were 22 pre sent for the special meeting which had nationalism and Remembrance as its theme. The acting president Mrs. | Reader opened the meeting with the following thought: Did you waste the day or lose it, was it well or sorely spent? Mrs. T. Redman presented a few humourous stories. During roll call we were planned catering to the Sr. Citizens on Dée. 2nd and ask- ing "Grace" U.C.W. ladies to cater to Mystery Sister sup-| | per Nov. 25th. We allotted the following amounts as donations:--$50 to the M. & M., $20. to Hos- pital Auxiliary, $10. to CNIB, $20. to the Bible Society and $250. to the General Church fund. Mrs. "Amy Smith recited "In Flanders Fields" and then treated us toa couple of films projected on the sereen by Mr. Roy Cornish. The first was the "First World War" and the secon was "Focus on Fine China" which showed the manufac- turing process of Royal Doul- ton. It gave us an under- standing for the reason of the cost of this fine china. We trust Mrs. Myrtle Manns will soon be on her feet again after her recent shin injury. Last week Mrs. C.
