SMITH & SON R.R.2 PORT PERRY 985 -2395 Married 50 Years On Saturday, September 12th 1970, Mr. and Mrs. Cari Wright of Blackstock celebrat- ed their 50th wedding anni- versary at- the Christian Education Centre of Black- stock United Church. Mr. Cari Wright and the former Isobel Rutledge were married at Monteagle Valley near Ban- croft, September 15th,1920 by the Rev. Johnston. _ Mr. and Mrs. Wright have three daughters, Pearl (Mrs. Douglas Bilbey), 100 Mile House, B.C.; Kathleen (Mrs. Dalton Dorrell). Nestleton; and Dorothy (Mrs. James Mar- low), Blackstock Assisting in serving the guests were four granddaugh- ters Nancy, Leanne, Heather and Janis Dorrell, and three nieces Aileen Van Camp, May- lene Sutherland and Bonnie Holmes. Granchildren Anne and Fred Marlow were in charge of the guest book. Those pouring tea were Mrs. Walter Kelusky, Ban- croft; Mrs. Rupert Byers, Bowmanville: and Mrs. Wal- lace Holmes, Oshawa, sisters of the bride, and a sister-in- law Mrs. Anne McNally, Col- _borne. Also pouring tea was a sister of the groom, Mrs. Percy Van Camp, Blackstock, and a niece Mrs. Edna Edgar, Oshawa. Before moving to Black- stock Mr. and Mrs. Wright resided for 35 years on Fair- view Farm, west of Bilack- stock. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Couperthwaite who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary by holding open house for their many friends and relatives on Sunday. The local group of the Home and School will meet this Thursday evening at 7:30, this will be an organizing meeting. Mr. Rowe reports that there are 237 students} General Repairs this year with 44 of this number in Kindergarten. There are also 3 new teachers Mrs. Beddaws, Mrs. Liz Perry and Miss Caro! Craighead. Mr. Harry McMillan of New York City has been spending sometime in this area visiting friends and relatives Mrs. Gordan Jennings spent a few days with her sister Mrs. Hawthorn of Green Riv- er Mr. and Mrs. Danny Ree- sor, Chris and Charlene of Agincourt called on her par ents Mr. and Mrs. Art Couves Sunday evening.
