The parade was led by the Claremont Citi- zens' Band. A new feature attracted much attention -- Catch te Greasy Pig Contest for boys Winner of the 15 and under was David Snowden, Oshawa In the 16 and over, Tony Dui vesteyn of Blackstock won Both winners chose the pig as the prize. The Champion Chocolate Class with its three Sections --Ladies, Teenage Girls and Men had a total of 24 ent- ries! Much to the amaze ment of the lady cooks of Blackstock and area a twelve year old boy, Paul Larmer, baked the Champion Cake This cake was later auctioned off for twenty-five dollars to Mr, Cawker of Port Perry The Corsage making con test winners were Mrs. Alan Werry & Mrs, Walter Wright * Approximately 250 balloons were released again this year in the Balloon-Fly-athon Last year's winners of the senders of the balloons were returned from the farthest distance were Janise Mc Laughlin, 2nd -- Kelly Me Laughlin and 3rd--the Rich ard VanCamp family. The | winning balloon was return- ed from Derby, N.Y. on the South shore of Lake Erie. HEAVY HORSES Clydesdale on Halter--All classes were won by Mr. Rus- sell Cochrane, R.R. 2, Black- stock, except Yeld Mare or gelding won by Heber Down, Brooklin. Percheron halter classes were won by Mr. Victor Cookson, Bowmanville and Murray Grove. Stouffville, won Yeld mare or Gelding, Belgian on Halter.
