Mr. Barron has held the position of accountant in the Bank of Nova Scotia here for some time and has been given a deserved promotion. Both he and Mrs. Bar- ron made many friends while in the city, and will be missed greatly in social circles. They were active mem- bers of Central United Church. Canada's Quints Steal The Toronto Spotlight In Toronto Their Majesties met the only Canadians who are perhaps more famous than themselves--the Dionne Quintuplets. What happened history will enjoy longer than any other epi- sode of this trip. With Dr. Allan Roy Dafoe, Oliva Dionne and wife and seven of the eight other Dionnes, the Quintuplets were bustled into the Governor's room of the Parliament Building. All five wore puffy, white organdy court frocks and poke bon- nets, and each wore her favorite flower in her hair. Already astounded by the miracle of their first train trip and a ride through Toronto in a "voiture," the four-year-olds faced royalty calmly enough. They all curtsied wrong-ways (right: foot behind the left). Then Cecile de- parted from protocol. She rushed rushed over and kissed the Queen. In a trice, Elizabeth, lonesome despite the previous day's telephone call t@ her own two daughters, was on her knees in a flurry of kissing Quintup- lets. Forgotten man for the moment was the King, in his navy uniform, but Yvonne fixed that, running to him: and taking his hand. Soon they were in brisk French conversation over the King's Navy buttons. "You Are Beautiful' Girls Call To Queen This may have happened at many places--in the same words, or in other words. Where it happened this time was at the entrance to the Windsor Hotel in Montreal. The King and Queen were coming in for the banquet. The police and the: militia were holding back the crowds. The car came amid that hush one is beginning to recognize, in which you can almost hear the beat and bound of many loyal hearts. As their Majesties walked up the cleared space the police cordon broke' and three French girls were catapult- ed into the clear space. They had no» eyes, no sense, no mind for anything but the Queen, and then with a gasp of wonder and awe one of them called, so clearly that many of us, too, heard it: "But you are beautiful!" And other voices in the crowd took it up-- "beautiful, _beautiful!" And as the Queen turned and smiled --the smile that is a legend in Canada. already--there were tears in her eyes. = The Army and Navy Veterans' Association Branch 2361 EXTEND LOYAL AND HEARTIEST GREETINGS TO THEIR BELOVED SOVEREIGNS King George VI and Queen Elizabeth YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO THE GARDEN PARTY At Lakeside Park, Tuesday Evening, June 6th
