FERTILE FRENCHMAN"S BAY -- Con- gratulations to Ron Playford of the Frenchman's Bay Yacht Club who won the Corby Trophy at the Oshawa Yacht Club Re- gatta recently. Ron, with his crew, Miss Maureen McCleery, came first in the Blue Jay class with 26 boats entered from To- ronto, Oshawa, Whitby and Frenchman's Bay. The Frenchman's Bay Ban- tam Softball team was defeated in the two games played at Fisherville recently, in the ORSA playdowns. Apparently the boys were not up for these two games after travelling 140 miles to Fisherville. Wayne Col- ley pitched the first game in which they were blanked 11-0. In the second game with Keith Buck, Mrs. Ivy Swan, Mrs. Dorothy Wiseman and Mrs. Eileen Fertile. There were about 50 guests attending. | Among the out of town guests were Miss Doris Jean Robert- son and Mrs, Phyllis Smith from Port Hope and Mrs. Marjorie Lawrence and Mrs. Helen Her- cia from Oshawa. | Birthday wishes to Ceri Salt who celebrated her birthday on] Sept. 26.
