1-0 IN OVERTIME Kickers Nip one point behind Thistle. With now two games remaining, they must gain two points, to take the leadership. It would be a severe blow if they were to lose that trophy too because of a technicality -- having one sub- stitute too many on the bench, who, incidentally never played in the game. On Saturday evening, Kick- ers and Hungaria fought it out in the final of the Carling Chal- lenge Trophy in a thrilling contest that saw Kickers come through with their usual Cup-tie spirit and walk away with the prize, but not before 20 min- utes of overtime had been play- ed, for a 1-0 victory. Hungaria Carling Trophy Match Two 10 minute periods of overtime is the rule in Cup matches, so the teams again faced off and it looked certain that a replay would be neces- sary. At nine minutes of the last overtime period, Hungaria was on the attack but then, in a flash, the Kickers defence clear- when the forwards would give up far too e:sily, which is not typical Hungaria style. There was certainly no fault to be found with either de- fence, both centre-halves hold- ing their units exceptionally well, and both being expert at their jobs.
