FELLOWSHIP GROUP The May meeting of the Fel lowship Group of King Street United Church WA was held re- cently. The president, Mrs. Dwight Bunner, opened the meeting and welcomed the guest speaker, Mrs. Percy Fletcher, and also Mrs. Alan Thompson, Mrs. Gordon Hawker and Mrs. H. R. Bradburn. The worship service was con- ducted by Mrs. William Smith with the theme "The Home and Family". Scripture passage was read by Mrs. Thomas Goch. Mrs. John Minnis was at the piano for the musical portion. The secretary and treasurer, Mrs. H. A, Armstrong and Mrs. Glynn Pearse, gave their re- spective reports. Mrs. Bunner expressed her thanks to the group for their assistance at the May meeting of the WA of the church and also for the excellent co-operation of group members at the recent strawberry supper. It was announced that Mrs, Sey- mour Bigwood, Mrs. Stanley Gomme and Mrs. Jules Ethier would attend the Dominion Council meeting in Emmanuel College, Toronto. Some discus- sion was held -on advance pre- parations for the June 17 wed- ding and also tickets were dis- tributed for the annual Feast of the Seven Tables to be held in the Centennial Hall on Septem- ber 26. Mrs. John Minnis, who is leav- ing Oshawa to take up resi- dence in Peterborough, was the recipient of a going away gift presented on behalf of the Group by Mrs. Stanley Gomme. Mrs. Audrey Metcalf, who had charge of the program, intro- duced the guest speaker, Mrs. Percy Fletcher. Through the medium of colored slides, mem- bers were taken on a picture tour of Bermuda and Mrs. Fletcher's personal anecdotes of her visits to St. Peter's Angli- can Church, the lane of .he Royal Palms and the Garden Club Tour and many other places of interest, were of par- ticular interest. Mrs.. William Edwards thanked Mrs. Fletcher. Mrs. Bunner announced that the closing meeting of the sea- son would be in the form of a pot luck supper in June. The worship service was conducted by Mrs. George Ham- ilton reading the scripture les- son and Miss Grace Kennedy leading in prayer. All were reminded of the June bale, and the meeting to be held at the home of Mrs. Alex. McDonald. ELEANOR HOY GROUP The regular meeting of the Eleanor Hoy Group of Cedar Dale United Church was held recently. Mrs. Alfred Barassin, presi- dent, presided. Mrs. Earl Hoy conducted the devotional period, speaking on the significance of Mother's Day, and the influ- ence of the mother in the home. Mrs. George Thomson gave the secretary's report and Mrs. Russell Worsley gave the trea- surer's report. Mrs. Ralph Boneham gave a very interesting report on the Bay of Quinte Conference held recently in the Whitby United Church. Mrs. Barassin outlined plans that had been drawn up to fur- nish the Manse for the incom- ing minister and his family. SOUTHMEAD PARK AUX. The regular meeting of the Southmead Park Ladies Auxil- iary was held recently at the home of Mrs. Fred Pesarchuk, Simcoe street south. The presi- dent, Mrs. Charles Musgrave, presided. The minutes were read by Mrs: Fred Dewsbury and Mrs. Thomas Kidd gave the treasur- er's report. The corresponding secretary, Mrs, Harvey Kirby, gave her report on all corre- spondence since the April meet: ing. It was decided to sponsor the Park House League for boys and girls who are not on the regular ball teams. The park opening to be held June 10 was the main topic discussed. After the business meeting, several games of bin- go were enjoyed. The prize-winners were: Mrs. Fred Dewsbury, Mrs. Alan Shortt, Mrs. Frank Lee, Mrs. Fred Beck, Mrs. Fred Pesar- chuk and Mrs. Harvey Kirby.
