A. McKay, the minister conducting the service and Mrs. Mercer a deaconess of the Church extension service of To- ronto as guest speaker. The Junior choir conducted by Dr. McKay and accompanied by Georgina White at the piano, sang very sweetly, With Mr. Fanthom conducting and with Mrs. H. There was a huge crowd at the Kiwanis Park last Saturday as the Guides and Brownies held their annual "Guides in Action", Mrs. Stenabough Sr., of To- ronto, spent the weekend with her son, Mr. William Stena- bough and family of Fairport road north. Mr. E. G. Code has returned| to his home on Fairport road| north after spending the winter| at London and Seaforth. Brenda Phipps celebrated her fourth birthday on Saturday, May 27, with a party. Willis. A combined birthday was held for Mrs. Willis and little Margaret who was two years old Mr. James Mitchell took a motor trip to Rochester, N.Y.| last week. On Friday, May 20, Dunbar- ton Pickering Kiwanis Club held their annual charter cele- bration in the form of a dinner and dance at Highland Creek Le- gion Hall. The guest speaker, T. D. Thomas, MPP of Oshawa spoke on citizenship. Among the distinguished guests present were Lt.-Gov. of the District 6B, Wilson Grimmell of Peter- borough, Past Gov. of Ontario, Quebec and Maritimes District Robert Stroud of Oshawa, and international trustee of Kiwanis Mel Osborne of Toronto. The Dunbarton Pickering Club was congratulated on their achieve- ment Award rating them in 1960 as one of the five best in U.S and Canada of over 1500 in the small club classification.
