CASTLE CHAPTER ALUMNAE The June meeting of the jun- ior group of the Castle Chapter Alumnae was held at the home of Miss Doris Batty, Brooklin. A summary of the events of the year was discussed and a report from the representative to Council, Miss Audrey Law- lor, was given of a recent meet- ing held on Alumnae Day at Ontario Ladies' College. The treasurer's report was read. The executive agreed to carry on the same officers for another year. Plans were made for the June meeting to be held at Little Haven in the form of a barbeque on June 21. "Bon voy- age" wishes were expressed to Mrs. James Carnwith, Sr., who is leaving for a summer holiday in England. Refreshments were served by the social hostesses for the month of May, Mrs. H. Taylor and Mrs. E. A. Hillier. NAVY LEAGUE AUXILIARY The May meeting of the Navy League Ladies' Auxiliary was held at the Barracks with Mrs. George Luhtala leading in prayer. The minutes were read and the treasurer's report given. The evening was spent in dis- cussing plans for the annual inspection of the cadets to be held at the Armories on May 24 at 8 o'clock. Following the meeting the committee served refreshments. SCOUT MOTHERS' AUX. The 8th Oshawa Sea Scout Mother's Auxiliary held its regu- lar meeting recently. The presi- dent, Mrs. George Fitches, pre- sided for the opening. It being vice-president's night, the meet- ing was turned over to Mrs. John Robertson, second vice- president, who ducted the business session. After the conveners had given their respective reports, Mrs. F. N. Farncomb of the Sea Gull patrol introduced Donald was given by Mrs. John Robert- son. All fathers were reminded that the next group committee meeting will be held on May 24 at 7.30 pom. Mrs. David St. Andrew gave a report on the Cnetral Conference held in Peterborough recently at which she and Mrs. George Fitches were delegates. Plans were made to have the annual picnic on Monday, June 19, at the Rover Den. Everyone was asked to meet at the Scout Hall at 2.30 p.m. and to bring something for a pot luck supper. Mrs. Stanley Gales will have charge of the games. Refreshments were served by the Sea Gull patrol. MOCK TROUT Canned salmon can double for trout. This short, easy recipe proves it.
