Mrs. L. Wearn, president, opened the meeting with a welcome to all especially the guests. A well chosen Worship Service on the theme, "What Makes a Christian| Home", was prepared by Mrs A. Werry and given by Mrs. J McLaughlin. Mrs. 1. Stainton read a poem on "Mother", The Explorers with Councillors Mrs H. Ashton and Mrs. R. Virtue had a display of work related] to the mission project, done by! the girls, such as school articies to be sent to Korea and an Eas- ter Mosaic. Mrs. Ashton, Mrs. Hawkshaw con- ducted the worship service of Thanksgiving. Among the many Mother's Day family gatherings was one for Mrs. E. C. Ashton at the home of one of her sons, Mr and Mrs. Bruce Ashton, Black- stock. Most of the members of Mrs, Ashton's family were pres- ent with the exception of two who were detained at home through illness. It was also the| occasion of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Ashton"s 20th wedding anniver- sary and they were the recipi-| ents also of a gift from the| family. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Trewin Carol and baby Gail, Mimico,| ! were Sunday callers at Mr. and| §_ 2 Mrs. E. Trewin's and we were all visitors with Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Horn at their cottage, Wil- | liam's Point. Mr. and Mrs. J. Griffin and family called on her mother, Mrs. E. Bennett, Fenelon Falls. Mrs. E. Trewin, Doreen and Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Slemon, were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs, Fred Toms. Mr. and Mrs. A. Werry and family were recent callers at F. W. Werry's and J. Piggott's, Bowmanville . Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Slemon Hampton, spent a couple of days with Mrs. F. Toms. Miss Winnifred Cole, Ward Gilbert, Toronto, Mrs. E. A Werry were recent callers at Allan Werry's. Me. and Mrs. R. J. Ormiston were Sunday visitors at Arthur Tamblyn, Cambray. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Sharp and family were Sunday visitors at H.
