HOWARD HALL One of the busiest men in the Port Perry Chamber of Com- merce is its secretary-treasur- er Howard Hall. He is'an en- thusiastic worker in the village and especially enthusiastic in a proposed lakefront develop- ment. The chamber is advo- cating the Provincial Govern- ment reclaim part of the south end of the lake, which is mere ly a weed bed, and making it into additional park area. In addition the Chamber is advo- cating the Federal Government construct a breakwater south of the Pori Perry Yacht Club mooring area. When the idea was originated, the rink board felt the purchase of 100 pairs of skates would "seem a rather large expendi- ture for summertime entertain- ment." Regardless of the feeling buy- ing skdtes would prove a big expense io the village, its trusted rink board went ahead and made the purchase. Special forms of entertainment are being brought in each week, the most recent being the Ernie Lidnell Show, rie, western variety show. Many other forms of entertainment will be seen in the arena throughout the summer. The rink board, it has been said, is endeavoring to make Community Memorial Arena the focal point of entertainment in Port Perry throughout the year. From all reports so far this year, it looks like the board is carrying out its endeavor to the fullest.
