The 11-year-old girl, who has a .700 batting average, played Tuesday and smashed out a double, walked once, and struck out the third time. But it won't count in the Little League record books be- cause the game with Spring Valley was a practice session. The English team gets back into competition tonight and its feminine slugger hopes to do better. Beverly, a modest young lady with a pleasing smile and a face dotted with freckles said "I still think I" m hitting a little over my head.' The team doesn't agree. Her talents have pulled English up with the leaders in the Tri- p;| County Little League and she's well on her way to the batting crown. Under rules of the national organization for franchised little leagues, -Beverly couldn't play but the Tri-County loop is not a franchised league. "Thank heavens for that," ih itn nd said manager Doc Keyser, "Uae like to have a few more givlgwen like Beverly." She has played nearly every position. Hal I Heating Problem ?
