Cakes BUTTER SPONGE CAKE eggs egg yolks cup sugar cups cake flour Ys tsp. salt 2% tsps. baking powder 1% cup milk 1-3 cup melted butter Beat the eggs and egg yolks until thick. Add sugar gradually, beating well between additions. Mix and sift flour, salt and bak- ing powder. Add alternately with milk to first mixture. Add the butter, which should not be hot. Turn into buttered and floured cake pan. Bake 35 minutes in 350 degree oven, When cooled, split. Over lower piece spread fresh fruit mixed with sugar. Return top piece.
