(AP)--A pad- dling controversy which forced the temporary closing of the Hahira High School and touched off a pupil demonstration was settled Tuesday. The Lowndes County board of education reached agreement with the principal and 32 teachers at an emergency meeting called IB teaching staff at the 600-pupu school. The board assured principal A Martin and the teachers of 2 in the maintenance of {school discipline and the school program. The teachers withdrew their resignations. The way was cleared for the agreement when school bus driver Elmer Cornelius and his wife agreed to drop assault charges for the paddling of their 14-year-old son, Earl. The immediate fate of the school had been left largely in the hands of the middle - aged couple who alleged the principal and Mrs. Dwight Maples, a teacher, paddled Earl too se- verely a week ago for leaving school without authorization. after the mass resignations of the New Bid N Dicken New Hosco N Kelore N Man Noranda Norbeau Norgold Norlartic N Coldstrm Norvalie O'Brien Opemiska Orchan Pick Crow Pitch-Ore Portage Preston Pronto Pros Air Que Cop Radlore Rayrock Rexspar Sherritt Sircoe Stanleigh Stanigh wis Steep R Sullivan Thim 1 I'vans Res Ind Accep 3 Int Utilities 3 3 Cs ¥ ele Intprov 1 $ C Chieftn Inter PL Can: Dev Jockey C Jock C pr oily Se Cent Del Lakeland » 29 g © Dragon Lob Co B 25 C Mie Mac MacLeods A Cree wis 58 ME and PR Dev-Pal Mass-F Dome Pete Mid-West Duvex Molson A Dynamic Moore Home Oil A N St Car Home oil B Nor Star A H B Oil G North Star p Longpoint N Star wt 57 Mayfair Nor Phone Midcon Parker NCG wis Pac Pete Petrol Ponder Pyovo Oas Ranger Sarcee Spooner ridal 'I'riad Oil Un Oils Wayne Wstates Wsburne W Cdn OG WCdn OG 50 100 eR 525 185 30 1040 200 555 200 2645 220 25 50 193 140 z50 250 125 225 \ M § Mogul Morrison ( 3 * Mosher Ch 3 : Regcourt ( Con Sud Cop.
