In 1927, a company known as the Oshawa Temple Building Limited was incorporated with George Hart as its president. At the corner of Metcalfe and Centre streets was to be the site of the new Masonic Temple. On August 13, 1928, the cornerstone was laid and on May 10, 1929 the Temple was dedicated by the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Canada in [the Province of On- tario, M Wor. Bro. John S. Martin, The laf development in ma- sonry in Oshawa was in 1958 when a group of Past Masters and unaffiliated masons here under the leadership of Rt. Wor. Bro. James Jackson formed under special dispensation a masonic lodge using the name "Parkwood" with the consent of Col. R. S. McLaughlin. The lodge held its first meeting under dis- pensation in March, 1958 with Wor. Bro. Harold O. Flintoff as its' first Master. In July, the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario at its annual convocation in Toronto approved H.|of a charter for Parkwood Lodge which was presented in the au- tum, Following its charter night, Parkwood Lodge held its election of officers and in De cember Wor.
