Securities Act Sections Are Ruled Invalid " reduced the quantity of facts, | TORONTO (CP)--The Ontario Supreme Court has ruled invalid sections of the Ontario Securities Act because of their similarity to a section of the Criminal Code of Canada The ruling by Mr, Justice 8 M Hughes Wednesday prohibits a magistrate from trying Lyle Francis Smith, a former director of Canadian Allmetals Explora- tions, on charges of giving false information in a prospectus and with trading company stock on {ts own account The ruling recalls one late last year by Chief Justice J. C McRuer of the same court, who threw out the careless driving section of the Highway Traffic Act because it infringed on the field of criminal law, & federal prerogative. Final arguments in that case have yet to be made. Smith, 38, resigned his execu- ve position with Canadian All- yotals, a uranium property, in 1056. The value o/ this collection has importance because of the quan- tity of pictures the Byrons made in their daily professional rou- tine wherein all sorts of jobs and assignments led them many and such varied direc: [tions and situations.
