Description
Historic photo published in Record News circa 1936 - the caption reads: "Above is shown the first home of the Rideau Record. G.F. McKimm's baby newspaper was born in the rooms over L.A. Wilson's Drug Store, then occupied by the late Dr. J. S. McCallum. The first quarters of the newspaper are marked with an "x." In these cramped quarters printers labored fifty years ago to produce the first edition of this newspaper, now celebrating its golden jubilee." (Newspaper caption cropped out).

A sign reading "Medical Hall" appears to the left of the corner entrance between the first and second floors. The date of the historic photo is unknown, but may be circa 1900.

The newspaper clipping comes the collection of L. Ringer, 1936 scrapbook by Janet Lemex.
