Nestleton's Cartwright Fields project in advance in order to help the construction proceed on schedule. The grant was scheduled to be handed out in three annual $50,000 installments, wrapping up in 2003, but project organizers are $167,000 short of the $367,000 bill for Phase One. Grading and drainage excavations on the site on Highway 7A are to begin immediately. "We're hoping we might not need the extra $50,000 but we'd like to have it," Ward 4 Councillor David Dietlein said Monday. "It makes the fundraising easier and we recognize that," said Scugog Mayor Doug Moffatt.
