"WEEKEND STAR" FRIDAY, JULY 6, 2001 - 13 They found a "humongous" Wirels growing in their driveway Uxbridge couple make a delicious discovery By Chris Hall Weekend Star An Uxbridge couple' made a delicious discov- ery recently when they noticed a giant-sized morel sprouting up through their driveway. George and Marion Comer presented their find recently to Star staff, all of whom were amazed at the abnormal size of the mushroom- like growth. "We built a*new car port last year and then later we noticed it stick- ing up through about two inches of gravel," said Mr. Comer, who lives on Main St. Waiting and watching the morel grow, the Comers became amazed at its size. "We've been getting they're usually about the size of normal mushroom," §said Mr. Comer. "This one is humongous; we've never seen one this big." . Using a tape measure and small scale, the Comers found their morel weighing in at- 485 standing approximately grams and seven-and-a-half inches and-a-half inches across the top and a total of 17 inches in circumference. As for the future of the morel, Mr. Comer said it's quite simple. "This is great French cuisine; they'd probably do anything for one this size," he said, explaining that morels are usually dried out and cooked. "We're going to eat | them for years, but tall. It's more than six- it." / olf George and Marion Comer made a great discov- ery recently when they found a gigantic morel growing in their driveway. e 3M Scotchguard ~ @ Broadloom © Upholstery Cleaning, | ose Rugs Fo ¢ Fon pp | § a B pn id 4 ap A Now, fanrin for 100 (00 Co per month for 48 months with $2635 down $ best 852-6711 \ 985-8552 elling 4 door sedan' « Power door locks WAY ololale lilo aliale oR: 0]=1=10.
