Burton This coming Sunday and all the services for the month of July will be held in Goodwood United Church at 10 a.m. This will be a time to welcome the new minister Rev. Elaine Lush. This past Sunday was a time of saying farewell to Rev. Burton who was the minister on the charge for the past eight years. The theme, Volunteers make Visions a Reality, was the challeng- ing task of 771 ladies from 41 countries, making 141 delegations. Women's Institutes are a member society of their organiza- tion which has a voice at United Nations with its headquarters in London, England. We are sorry that Orvan Brethour is not so well these days. Orvan is a member of our foodgrains bank committee and we do wish him a complete recovery. Why not attend the Mariposa Agricultural Society's Quilt and Craft Show on July 7 at the Oakwood Community Centre? The show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admis- sion is $2.50. View over 50 quilts ranging from her- itage to special occasion and those for sale. While pursuing the quilts, also plan to visit the over 30 vendors selling crafts, quilting supplies, country and home decor items and home baking. Golf tourney to raise funds for Simcoe Hall Settlement House In support of Simcoe Hall Settlement House and the community, the eighth Annual Simcoe Hall Settlement House/Canadian Corps Association Charity Golf. Tournament will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25 at Sunnybrae Golf Course, Port Perry. The $65 includes green fees, roast beef dinner and prizes.
