"WEEKEND STAR" FRIDAY, JUNE 29, 2001 - 13 Come watch at the Bla ckstock Fairgrounds Blackstock truck, tractor pull gets | : ee underway July 7 1 uit A slaughter is planned July 6 and 7 at Blackstock Fair grounds. Earle Trewin and his "Killer Allis" will be loose on so called competition. This water fuelled pulling nightmare will pull against all comers at the annual Blackstock Truck and Tractor Pull. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this exciting sport be prepared for plenty of excitement. Our drivers and owners take this competition very seriously. Thousands of dollars and thousands of hours are spent preparing for a pull that may last 30 seconds. A sled is drawn behind the tractor. This is no ordinary sled. A track moves a box of weights along the sled putting more and more pressure and friction on the ground increasing the difficulty of the pull with every inch gained. The ground will often smoke from the effects of the friction. The noise can be huge and many tractors will have flames shooting from their exhaust. Exotic fuels and additives gain as much horsepower as possible from the. screaming engines. This is a family event. Kids won't forget it and adults will be amazed by it. Starting time is 7 p.m. at the fairgrounds. There will be 17 classes of "Big Rigs, highway ready for Stock Summer Fas Shion Fabric, pulling tractors and trucks over the two evening lel ROI0N Wola event.
