Provincial Championships Novice | - Congratulations Nicole Prosser on becoming the "Novice | Provincial Champion" and the winning of bronze medals on beam and on bars. Nicole placed 5th on vault, 3rd on bars, 3rd on beam, 4th on floor and Ist overall; Lindsay Bound placed 8th on vault and her consistent performance leads to team victory. Pre-Junior |: Leah Ostermaa is now Ontario's silver medalist on the balance beam. Leah placed Sth on vault, 5th on bars, 2nd on beam, 31st on floor and 9th overall. Pre-Novice 1: Jessica Duck had strong, consistent perfor- mances on all events and placed 9th on vault. Jazmine Carter placed 17th on vault with strong perfor- mances throughout. The strong performances by all of our athletes led not only to personal success but also vic- tory for their teams - "Metro East Novice Team" and "Metro East pre-Novice Team." Congratulations girls. Take a spin around Mosport in a Corvette It's time for the annual Trans-Am Victoria Day Weekend at Mosport Grand Sport Racing will give Corvette fans a "chance to race during the Mosport Victoria Day Weekend event, May 18- 20. Grand Sport Racing has recreated the Mosport track configuration in an HO scale slot car track. The slot cars are Corvette C5's painted to match Grand Sport's Speedvision World Challenge C5's. Each day of the event, Grand Sport Racing will host the Hobby Craft Slot Car Challenge. The fastest slot car driver from each day will win a Hot Vette slot car set from the Canadian-based Hobby Craft, a leading distributor of action games. In addition, Hobby Craft will have the very newest in gaming technology for fans to experience. The Venuality Reality Headset allows gamers to experi- ence video games they've never been Syed before. The Hobby Craft Slot Car Challenge is free for all spectators and will be open Friday, noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. till noon, and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Speedvision broadcast personalities other SVWC teams will have a chance to tackle the slot car track in a special Radians Grudge Match on Friday evening. The Hobby Craft Slot Car Challenge is part of the Grand Sport Racing assault on Mosport. 1999 SVWC GT Champion Bobby Archer, is the defending 1999 and 2000 winner at Mosport. He will pilot the #08 KB Enterprises/Grand Sport C5. Bobby Sak, son of Trans Am veteran Don Sak, will continue his rookie season in the #04 AGE Plumbing/Grand Sport C5. The team has high hopes for Archer's bid. Although he is recently associated with his success in the Viper, Archer has won more races in a Corvette than any other car. His record at Mosport is without comparison.
