At 11:30 p.m. last Saturday, Connie McKibbon was in her Goodwood St. home when she smelled smoke. "I went to see what was up thinking perhaps Dave (her husband) was burning something outside," Ms McKibbon said. "When he told me he wasn't we went outside and saw smoke (coming from a neighbour's home across a field)." When blasts on the horn failed to rouse anyone, Mr. McKibbon entered the home and began to warn the family of three adults and a child to get out. Durham Regional Police Family credited with rescue of neighbours in Goodwood fire say they are considering nominating the McKibbon family for a civilian cita- tion. "It is easy to call 911," Ms: McKibbon said. "We just did what you hope anyone would do under those circumstances." No injuries were report- ed; fire crews from Uxbridge and York Region responded to the fire. OPENING ANNOUCEMENT! Dr. Vi Tu Banh OPTOMETRIST 107 Toronto St. S.
