Q School Uniform: A dress code that defines specific dress tobe worn by the student. SCC members will also be asked to decide what level of support will be needed in a vote of school liouseholds in order to implement each level of the code. The board is suggesting a support level of 80 per cent of*all school households should show support for a particular code before it could become policy. A policy for dealing with families which cannot meet the cost of adhering to school dress codes will also have to be in place before SCCs can move forward with a dress code. The dress code will have to be laid out in the pro- posed student handbook by next September. Port Perry High School currently has a dress code in effect. SCCs will now go back to their own communities and provide input on possible dress codes. One problem discussed is the fact that there could be a wide variety of dress codes in individual schools that students transferring to new areas would have to meet. Uxbridge trustee Nancy Loraine said she will consult with her SCCs throughout .the process to ensure that codes reflect the choice of the communities. Scugog trustee Martin Demmers did not attend the three-hour meeting with his SCCs.
