FRIDAY, MARCH 9, 2001 - 21 BRUNT, Mrs. Elizabeth Alice (Kight) -A long time resident of Wallaceburg passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2001 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance "Sydenham Campus®, Wallaceburg at the age of 86 years. Elizabeth was bom in Port Penry and was a daughter of the late Arthur Kight and Lily Day. She was a member of Trinity United Church where she served as a Sunday School Superintendent and teacher for 30 years and also was an elder of the church. She was a Past Matron of the Laura Secord Chapter in Wallaceburg. She had been involved in the Chatham Kent Art Society, the Woman's Canadian Club, Canada's Institute for the Blind and the Horticultural Society. With further schooling in the field of Early Childhood Education and Development for the Disabled, Mrs. Brunt worked for many years as a director for the Adult Rehabilitation Centre and was deeply interested with the Wallaceburg and Sydenham District Association for Community Living. She conceived the idea for the managed ARC's storefront "The Wedding Bell Boutique" which was across from the Police Station. After the death of her husband at the age of 75 she initiated a successful reading program for challenged adults with the help of volunteers in her home which was so successful a new home had to be found and that was the Rotary Club's Happy Craft Building. She was indeed a very special friend to many in our community and will be truly missed. Beloved wife of the late James Thomas Brunt (1989). Dear mother and mother-in-law of Mary and Russell Crowe of R.R. 6, Wallaceburg, Betty and Basil Sutton of Miller Lake, Honey and Bruce Craig of R.R. 2 Tottenham and Thomas Arthur - and Brenda Brunt of Chatham. Sadly missed by 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Kind sis- ter of Marion Owen of Uxbridge and sister-in-law of Sarah Kight-Brunton of Port Perry and Lillian Brunt of Wallaceburg. Predeceased by her sisters Allaurien and Lillian and her brothers Cleve, Ted and David. The late Elizabeth Alice Brunt is resting at the ERIC F. NICHOLLS FUNERAL HOME, 639 Elgin Street, Wallaceburg. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 7-9 and Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. On Thursday, March 8, 2001 Mrs. Brunt will be conveyed to Trinity United Church to lie in state from 9 a,m. until the time of Funeral Services at 10 am. with Rev. Elizabeth Lemon and Mrs. Cheryl Kirk officiating. The pallbear- ers will be her grandsons. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
