FRIDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2000 - 17 Easter Seals searching for Ontario representatives "WEEKEND STAR" | The Easter Seal Society of Ontario is searching for past Timmys and Tammys from decades gone by as part of this year's golden anniversary of the Conn Smythe Sports Celebrities Dinner & Auction for Easter Seal Kids, taking place on February 8, 2001 in Toronto. As part of the 2001 celebration, The Society is looking to find past serving "Timmys" and "Tammys". These past ambassadors could win the chance to be a special guest at this year's Conn Smythe Sports Celebrities Dinner & Auction and help celebrate 50 years of history. This prestigious extravaganza is cel- ebrating half a century of having some of the sports world's greatest athletes from hockey, baseball, football, boxing, wrestling, motor racing, golf, tennis and many more, grace its stage. T his celebrity dinner has raised more than $3.25 million for Easter Seal kids in its 50-year history. One of the highlights of the Conn Smythe Sports Celebrities Dinner & Auction is the introduction of The Society's new Provincial Ambassadors, or Timmys and Tammys, as they were known, for the year. Many enthusiastic children have had the honour of being The Easter Seal Society "Timmy" or "Tammy", repre- senting and advocating on behalf of all children and young adults with physi- cal disabilities across Ontario.
