On Friday, Nov. 17 at great expense and time, the park was bedecked for the holiday season, includ- ing lights gn the massive fir "pre Qui - dor 8) =n; ~~ 'Orchards tree in the centre of the park. The evening saw a great crowd witness the lighting of that tree and | must admit it looked spec- tacular. For a few hours anyway. Sometime after about 10 or 11 p.m. some younger members of the community took it into their heads to pull most of the light stringers off the tree and remove the light bulbs. They also wrecked many of the decorations on the street light posts. It was deliberate vandalism.
