WEEKEND SIAR fireplace are two dif- ferent forms of heating. The furnace is what is called "central heating" meaning that when it is operating it is heating the entire house from one central location using forced air feeding heat through ducts into each room. A heat efficient fire- place is considered "zone heating" which means heat is pro- duced from one loca- located. If you have good air flow and an open floor plan, it is possible to heat more than just the room that the fireplace is in. The benefit of heating with "zone heating" is that you are heating the rooms which you are using most often. Therefore, you are not wasting fuel by heating the entire house. You can also put your fireplace on a thermostat. Most of todays gas fireplaces, even when on a ther- mostat, do not tion, using radiant heat and convective air flow to warm the room where the fireplace is TOWNSHIP OF SCUGOG 2000 Fall Leaf Collection Wednesdays October 25, 2000 November 1, 8, & 15, 2000 The four consecutive Wednesdays commencing October 25, 2000 have been designated as Fall | Leaf Collection in Port Perry and Prince Albert in the Township of Scugog.
