"WEEKEND STAR" Team's looking for public input CAUSE meeting in Brooklin Thursday A team of volunteer architects, landscape architects and architectural students from across Ontario will be gathering in the Village of Brooklin next Thursday (Sept. 21.) The Town of Whitb of Architects C.A.U.S. Study Effort) pro Monday, Sept. 25. The purpose of the visit is to look at the challenges and opportunities in downtown Braoklin, and develop workable solutions that build upon and strengthen the village's downtown area. Each member of the C.A.U.S.E. Team brings their own experiences and ideas to the study. The C.A.U.S.E. Team is not preconditioned to solutions for the downtown vil- 'lage area, and will be striving to bring a fresh perspective. As such they rely heavily on input from the Brooklin resi- dents and businesses that is vital to the success of the program. "Each community is unique, has its own set of strengths and weaknesses for which different solutions are suggested," said team coordinator Bob Webster, an Ottawa Architect. "The community's enthusiasm to the C.A.US.E. pro- gram is a terrific source of energy and inspiration for the team members. The recommendations will assist in the development of the community's vision for the downtown "and surrounding village." The team is holding a town hall meeting with the pub- lic on the evening of Thursday, Sept. 21. The team hopes to stimulate a lot of discussion at the public meet- ing. On Friday morning, Sept. 22 between 8 and 9 a.m. the team will host a round-table discussion for Brooklin busi- nesses. The discussion will also take place at the Brooklin United Church, 19 Cassels Road Road East. Incidentally, the Mount Zion Masonic Lodge at 14 Cassels Road East is where the team members will have their temporary office and work space set up.
