As well, the Trans Canada Trail Relay, which will see samples of water from the Pacific Ocean make its way across Canada via runners to the East Coast, will coincide with the celebrations this week- end, with the run sched- uled to arrive in Little Britain on Monday. An hour later, at 5 p.m., a community barbecue and corn roast will kick off in Little Britain Park with Mariposa Reeve Barbara Kelly hosting the opening ceremonies. A Trans Canada Trails Dance will also be held in the Little Britain Community Centre, begin- ning at 8 p.m. The following day, on Sunday, Manposa will host its Festival in the Park. A pancake breakfast will start the day off, from 9 a.m. till noon, at the Little Britain Community Centre. It's hosted by the Little Britain Ladies' Auxiliary. From 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. the Festival in the Park will be held at the community centre, with Music in the Park from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. The highlight of the weekend will begin at 1:30 p.m., when the Fair Queen Ambassador Competition is held at the Community Hall. It's put on by the Mariposa Agricultural Society. Boys and girls in Grade 7 and 8, as well as those between the ages of 18-22 are invited to compete. Contestants must reside in Victoria County. A fashion show and lunch will follow the com- petition. The event is spon- sored by the Mariposa Fire Department, Oakwood Lions' Club, Oakwood Ladies' Auxiliary, and Oakwood's AGH Trucking. A decoration service for Zion Church will be held at 2 p.m., followed by a best- of-three tug-o-war match between Mariposa's fire department and local Ontario Provincial Police officers. An OldTimers baseball game will wrap up the day's events. It will begin at 3 p.m. On Monday, Mariposa will prepare for the arrival of the Trans Canada Trail Relay, which is scheduled to arrive in Little Britain sometime between 11:30 a.m. and noon at the Little Britain Arena.
