An hour later, at 5 p.m., a community barbecue and corn roast will kick off in Little Britain Park with Mariposa Reeve Barbara Kelly hosting the opening ceremonies. It's put on by the Mariposa Agricultural Society. Boys and girls in Grade 7 and 8, as well as those between the ages of 18-22 are invited to compete. Contestants must reside in Victoria County. A fashion show and lunch will follow the com- petition. The event is spon- sored by the Mariposa Fire Department, Oakwood Lions' Club, Oakwood Ladies' Auxiliary, and Oakwood's AGH Trucking. A decoration service for Zion Church will be held at 2 p.m., followed by a best- of-three tug-o-war match between Mariposa's fire department and local Ontario Provincial Police officers. An OldTimers baseball game will wrap up the day's events.
