On June 21 the Scugog Island W.I. met at the Island Hall with 17 mem- bers and one visitor. Our president Jan Gerrow opened in the usual manner. Roll call was name your favourite teach- er and what made her/him memorable. Motto: Education never stops. We learn something new every day. Given by Gloria. All reports were given. Helen Redmen report- ed on work being done by the hall board - and all were pleased with the replacement steps and hand rail at the back entrance. A donation is being sent to the Marafan Association. July 4 is the strawberry supper at the Scott Museum, Uxbridge, mem- bers are asked to help supply food. Betty Reader reported on the District Annual Meeting held at the Utica Hall, May 18. This was the amalga- mation of the north and south branches. Joyce Kelly was elected presi- dent with Gloria Fralick ~ third vice. More about this later. A lovely lunch was served by Utica U.C.W. A belated card of con- gratulations was sent to Altona's W.I. for their 90th anniversary. Jan Gerrow then had us all invoived in cooperative games and puzzles. The meeting closed with cake and strawberries and whipped cream. See you all in September.
