Under sunny blue skies over 300 relatives enjoyed a fun-filled day meeting one another and reminisc- ing the good old days. The main event was a raffle draw for a beautiful hand quilted embroidered Puckrin crest quilt banner made by the granddaughters of Sadie Puckrin Smith, Lynda and Brenda Lawson. It was won by Barbara Puckrin of Goodwood. Guests were present from as far away as British Columbia and Alberta and New York, U.S.A. Greetings were read from Dr. Peter Hunter of England who was unable to attend. Alma Jones, 93, of Mt. Zion was the oldest person present and the youngest person prize at the reunion went to two week old Noah Mitchel Heritage of Whitby who is the great- great-great-grandson of the original Isaac Puckrin and Ann (Brignall) Puckrin. Isaac Puckrin (1825 - 1902) and Ann Brignall (1825 - 1895) came to Ontario from Winteringham area Yorkshire, England in 1848. He settled in Audley, Pickering Township the following year. Ann was the oldest daughter of Thomas and Mary Brignall who lived and farmed in the Brougham area of Pickering Township. They married and had 10 children, Sarah, Richard, John, William, Thomas, Mary Ann, Simon, William, Hannah and Elizabeth. Both Isaac Puckrin and Ann Brignall were Wesleyan Methodists and were devoted supporters of the first Methodist Church built in Audley in the 1860s. Here, they're joined by Helen Hedge (back) and Mildred and Fred Puckrin. farms, where he raised beef cattle and Cotswold sheep. Some of the sheep were shipped to lowa and Wisconsin, U.S.A. He kept his buildings in good repair and added to them. Isaac was also a school trustee at S.S. #5, Audley. Joining in the day's activities were the only two living grandchildren of Isaac and Ann Puckrin. They are Fred Puckrin of Seagrave and John Puckrin of Whitby.
