A team of four surveyors from the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA) interviewed staff, patients and clients of Lakeridge Health over a five day period last week. "Their comments were very positive," said Brian Lemon, CEO. "Our staff were praised for their enthusiasm, commit- ment, expertise and energy. Surveyors told us that it was evident that our health care teams are working together to plan and give the best care to our clients and patients." Lakeridge executives and staff were de-briefed by the four surveyors on Friday, April 7. They noted both areas of excel- lence and areas needing improvement. 'We were also delighted to hear that patients and clients who were interviewed by the surveyors were consistently com- plimentary about the care and service they receive," said Mr. Lemon. The CCHSA is a non-profit, non-gov- ernment organization that helps health service organizations across Canada exam- ine and improve the quality of the care and services they provide. Participation in the accreditation process is voluntary and the program is based on national standards.
