The business was start- ed in 1956 by Sam Fisher. Intent on erecting a sturdy building that would hold all his equipment, Mr. Fisher tore down a barn in Scarborough just so he could have its strong beams for the shop. Fisher's Farm Service sold Oliver tractors, other machinery, fertilizer and fencing. After -taking courses in welding and repairs, Mr. Fisher's son, Harold, bought the shop from his father in 1970. The business wasn't new to Harold; he had always worked in the shop after school and on week- ends. "With the help of good neighbors, friends, dealer- ships and a lot of long, hard hours | managed to pull it through," said Harold Fisher.
