McClelland Port Perry Star More than 100 Scugog residents turned out Monday evening for the first in what will be a series of public meetings on the issue of munic- ipal restructuring. It's an issue expected to dominate the political agenda at the local level through the upcoming November elections, and into the next couple of years at least. Scugog Mayor Doug Moffatt was more than pleased with the solid turn-out for the 90-minute meeting at the Scugog Community Centre, and indicated there will be another within a couple of months. "The turn-out tonight has been excellent....there will be more public meetings in the future. We need to get your feed-back along 985-5277 THE GST! the way," said the mayor. He urged residents to have their say by phoning the municipal office, faxing or sending written submissions by post. Scugog Regional Councillor Ken Gadsden, who served as a co-chair for the meeting with the mayor, summed up what is facing Scugog over the next 18 months or so: "You either do it or get it done to you." He was referring to the fact that the provincial government has given Scugog a window of opportunity to come up with its own plan for restructuring or amalgamation.
