Durham Police were called to the parking lot behind Dairy Queen in Port Perry shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 23 when thieves stole a yellow 2000 SkiDoo and the black 1999 Dodge pickup it was sitting in. Police say a Barrie man and his friend went into a local tavern around 11:30 p.m. for a few beverages and when they returned two hours later, discov- ered the vehicle had been stolen. Thieves also made off with a 1997 Polaris which was parked behind a Water St. pub sometime between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 20. Gas bar is hit Thieves made off with a large haul from the Pioneer Gas Bar in Manilla when they broke into the station last weekend, say police. Durham Police report that sometime between 7 p.m. on Feb. 20 and 5 a.m. on Feb. 21 thieves broke a pane of glass in the Hwy. 7 building's front door, gain- ing entry. Once inside, they made their way into the garage where they stole two cases of pop, 12 car- tons of cigarettes, a quan- tity of food items, a VCR, videotapes, two half-inch air guns, one air drill and various other tools.
