In game one on Monday night Port Perry thrashed Peterborough 9-0. Scoring Port's first two goals were, Derek Bond assisted by Trevor Lance. Trevor scored the third goal assisted by Derek. Gordon Smith scored a nifty goal unassisted. Scoring next was James Liske with an assist by Jordon Froates. Jamie Smith popped the next goal with Derek getting another assist to cap a four point night. Justin Shinn connected on a beautiful unassisted effort. Rounding out the scoring was a sweet unassisted effort by Jeff Tarbotton. Game two saw Port Perry travel to" Peterborough for a Saturday evening game, again the Nutty Chocolatiers dominated the game. It started out close checking, Port scored two late first period goals. Derek drew first blood assisting was Trevor and Jamie Smith. Trevor then scored with assists credited to Ryan Hnatko and Derek: Port Perry's third goal was scored by Gordon assisted by Derek and Jamie. Jeff scored two quick goals early in the second period, both of these assisted by Spencer Churchill and Justin Shinn. Scoring early in the third was Derek with a nice move. Assists granted to Gordon and Trevor. Rounding out the scoring was Spencer with Jamie assist- ing. Keep up the good work boys. Cops charge two Uxbridge Campkin's edges Browman's 5-0 in final The Pee Wee house league team Browman's participated in two tour- naments over the winter break. The team is coached by Mark Herold. The first tournament was a non-con- tact one in Uxbridge on Dec. 29. The team got off to an amazing start by winning their first game against Uxbridge's Neil Bacon Auction team by a score of 10-2. Greg Anderson had a-hat trick, James Donaldson contributed with two goals and other - goals were scored by Micheal Jehu, Tyler Dezan, Sam Kwon, ]Jasen Frederiksen, and Brett Whyte. The goals were assisted by Matthew Virtue, Jasen Frederiksen, and Sam Kwon. Game two was against Uxbridge's Viper team and although the score was closer, Browman"s won this game by a 5-3 decision. Greg Anderson had a great game netting his second hat trick in as many games. James Donaldson also scored two goals in this hard fought game. Assists went to Sam Kwon and Matt Virture. Browman's goalie, Josh McCabe, played an important role keeping the Viper team off the scoreboard for the entire second period and didn't allow a goal until there were only four seconds left in the third. A huge effort was given by the defensive team of Dan Sullivan and Alex Herold in this game. Game three was against another Uxbridge team, Smoke Free. This game saw great end-to-end action and ended in a 4-4 tie. Goals were scored by Darren Tapper, Jasen Frederiksen, Brett Whyte and Greg Anderson tallied up two more goals. Assists went to Paul Bakalar, Sam Kwon, Daniel Sullivan, and Micheal Jehu. it was good enough to get the guys to the "A" final. The final ended up a Port Perry showdown with Browman's facing the Campkin team. Campkins managed to keep the guys off the scoreboard to win the final with a score of 5-0. Jeff Campkin scored once and Craig Kehoe couldn't miss and tallied up four goals in the final. Congratulations to Campkins on winning the tourna- ment. Browman's played a second tour- nament in Lakefield on Dec. 30 and saw their first action against Penatang. The game was a close one but Penatang got the win with a score of 3.2. Goals were scored by Dan Sullivan and Tyler Dezan with assists going to Brett Whyte and Paul Jewell. The second game ended with the identical score of 3-2 with Lakefield getting the better of the guys. Goals were scored by Dan Sullivan and Greg Anderson with assists going to Tyler Dezan, Paul Jewell and Dan Sullivan. Browman's made a come- back in their final game and beat St. Annes' 6-2. Goals were scored by Jasen Frederiksen, Tyler Dezan, Neal Boyle, Dan Sullivan and Greg Anderson, who got two. Draw winners were Jean Hunter, Terry Crawford and Anna Beaton. Thanks to Marie Foster and Brenda Gibson for the delicious lunch. The next euchre party will be held on Feb. 25 so'come out for a fun night of cards at the hall starting at 8 p.m. sharp. New players welcome. Cost $2. Greenbank Lions Club This has been a busy year in Greenbank and we have made significant achievements. We have put up a new fence in the baseball park, added a $40,000 addition to the park, putina $500 hedge and secured grants' to further improve the facilities in Greenbank. Wwe should take pride in all the work we have dorie because most of the work was done by volunteers with no labour costs. The Hall and Park Board, Lions Club, Folk Music Society and the Greenbank United Church have all done a wonderful job to make this a better community.
