The second Annual Soap Box Derby and Fun Fair was bound to be the tremendous success it was Saturday, with the glorious weather and community support we had. The Greenbank town spirit came through once again with an excited and hungry crowd. The food booth sold out it was so popular. With the race, games, jumping castle and Carol Couch's pony rides the kids had loads of fun to choose from. This years derby had 47 racers and 34 carts. This is I4 more carts than we had last year. We had participants from many areas of Durham Region and as far away as Waterloo. The winners of the Primary Class were: first - Laura Pelletier; second Dale Simpson; third Taylor Seddon; fourth Austin Johnson and fifth Bryan McCreight. Junior Class were: first - 1 "Darrell Pelletier; second - Greg Mathews; third - Tyson Lee; fourth - Brook Longhurst; fifth - Stefan Leistner-Lavoie. Open Class were: first - Ashley Vanderlaan; second ~~ Brian Sciuk; third - Darrell Pelletier; fourth - Nathan Paddock; fifth - Evan and Ben Frolick. The Driver's Choice Trophy was given to Spencer Sutherland in his Coupe Cart #13. Congratulations to all drivers for their efforts.
