Many attended the Orono and Uxbridge Fairs. Congratulations to Kate Mairs who was chosen Fair Ambassador at the Durham Central Fair (Orono). Pleased to report that Marilyn Cochrane is home recovering from surgery. We hope that your time of recovery is as short as possible. Bob Kyte is recovering from a farm accident and at the moment is confined to home. | am sure callers would help pass some of the time that is heavy on his hands these days. Wishes for continued recovery go to Bob. The DeJong families travelled to London on Saturday to join llene and Karl Bergen in their 25th wedding anniversary cele- brations. Congratulations, llene and Karl. Quite a number of relatives and friends joined Leslie and Velma Johnston of Cavan in the 50th wedding celebrations on Sunday. Congratulations Les and Velma. The Terry Fox is coming up for next Sunday. Several from this area are participating. Ruth Marconi is working hard to raise $1,000 again this year. Presently her pledges are over $800. There was a fine crowd at the annual Memorial and Decoration Service at St. John's Cemetery on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Earle and Marlene Trewin, Gerald and Joyce Kelly, Elaine Kelly attended the wedding of Grant and Georgina Middlebrook in Toronto on Sunday afternoon. The Scugog Shuffleboard Club is honoured to have its member Larry Spires on the Canadian Team in Australia. Accompanying him is his wife Barbara along with Muriel Ross who are also mem- bers of the club. Nancy Bryans was a guest of honour on Wednesday for her birthday when mom and dad, Babe and Wilf Brown of Oshawa along with Virg and Wilf Browen were lunch mates. Wilf celebrat- ed his 86th on the first. Nancy along with Virgy Pipert, Barb Hanc and Diane Crombie all of Bowmanville enjoyed a couple of days shopping in Watertown, New York. There were 14 tables at the weekly card party Lucky draws were won by Sarah Brunton, Gary Notenboom, Clara Warren, Lyle McMahon, Doreen Kelly and Doris Evans. A special birthday supper was held at Nancy and Bob's Cadmus farm to celebrate Debbie, Gord and Nancy's birthdays. Attending were the Alpe and Bryans fami- lies.
