Sweet Potatoes .............. 2 1B3cup ..... Oliveoill ................ 75 mL 2tbsp ...... Fresh thyme leaves ....... 25 mL 18D ou: 5. Pepper .................. 5 mL 1/2tsp ...... Salt & paprika ............ 2mL Preparation: 15 minutes -- cooking time 1 hour Keep baking and sweet potatoes separate, peel and slice to 1/8 inch (3 mm) thickness. In 2 large bowls, toss each type with half each of the oil, thyme, pepper, salt and paprika. In well greased 10 inch (3 L) springform pan, arrange half of the sweet potato slices over pan, overlapping slightly. Arrange half of the baking potato slices on top, overlapping. Repeat layers. Press layers down with a plate. Bake on baking sheet, uncovered, in 400°F (200°C) oven for about 1 hour or until top potatoes are brown and crispy. Let stand at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Run knife around inside rim; remove pan side and transfer potatoes to platter. Cut into wedges to serve. Makes 8 servings. MACS ARE | BACK! Seagrave Church News A rally day was held Sunday at the church ser- vice when Bill Barr and Rev. Carson conducted the dedication of the Christian Education Ministry. The Sunday School staff for the first unit are Betty Lou Beacock and Eleanor Sturman. The nursery staff are Rebecca Macdonald and Vanessa Rose. We wish to thank Chris Cliff for coming out and giving us a delightful talk. 1 know that each of us gained a great deal of knowledge on the sub- ject. Blackstock and District Lions Club We had a good turnout at our first dinner of the new Lions year which was catered by Foxy"s Deli in Blackstock. We just found out that the deli caters and we all enjoyed it. We had a lengthy meeting, finishing up activities from the summer and making plans for the fall. We've been asked to cook hamburgers once again for the Terry Fox Run next Sunday morning in Port Perry, so we'll see you there. We're also planning ahead to be well represented at our zone meeting in Stouffville on Wednesday, Sept. 26. The next meeting is an execu- tive meeting at Ken Hudson's on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The funds which have been raised to date are being used for materials only, while all the labour is being done by volun- ~ teers. We thank God for their continued faithful- ness and pray for the help that they still need in all areas. Fundraising is ongo- ing. On Sept. 15 and 16, Durham Adventure Tours are visiting our church as a point of interest. Our fellowship is offering a paid barbecue lunch between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The church is open to anyone interest- ed. Come and visit us. On Sept. 22 Caesarea Christian Fellowship and the Caesarea Ratepayers Association are joining forces to put on a family day, including kids' races in the afternoon, hot turkey/beef dinner at 6 p.m. with fireworks to fol- low.
