Firefighters from the Scugog Fire Department, as well as Durham Police officers, were called to Overridge Fireplace Warehouse at 170 Casimir St. around 4:20 a.m. on Oct 28 when the fire was first detected. Durham Police arrested and charged a 70-year-old Church St. resident around 7:10 p.m. on Oct. 28. Officers stopped him at the Queen St. intersection. Police observed the usual AR signs of impairment he was arrested. As a result, he will appear in court on Nov. 23. He has been charged with one count of impaired dri- ving and one count of exceed the legal blood- alcohol limit.
