Dora Martyn presented a very interesting program. There was much partici- pating from this area in the Terry Fox Run on Sunday in Port Perry and other areas. Among the runners was Ruth Marconi who is a Terry Team member, a cancer sur- vivor, and who was delight- ed to receive over $1,000 in pledges. All of the partici- pants extend a thank you to such a wonderful and caring sure that any of the runners would be pleased to accept your donation and pass it on to the proper place. A very special birthday was celebrated by Nancy Bryans with several parties. Almost 20 friends and rela- tives, all of her sisters and included fabulous Alpe and Emma. It was a surprise as it was dad's day too. A family supper of Chinese food was held at Gord and Debbie Bryans farm with the girls and the Alpes. Saturday afternoon another surprise was pulled off when almost 50 relatives and friends arrived. Included were Bryon and Juanita Clapper of Ashtabula, Ohio and Doreen and Kelvin Jarvis of Hamilton - Florida park friends. Happy birthday, Nancy. Probably the best gift of all was the solving of Nancy's medical problems. A capacity crowd filled the Nestleton Hall on Thursday evening when Ronn MacDonald was hon- oured by friends and col- leagues on his recent retire- ment as the Township Road Superintendent. After a delicious dinner prepared and served by Janice Mackenzie and Carol Mairs and their helpers several of the guests spoke of their connections over the years with Ronn. He was present- ed with a gift of a large tool chest and new chainsaw after which he replied in his MacDonald hosted a gradu- ation party for her husband Wayne MacDonald who recently graduated as a chartered accountant.
