Durham Regional Police report that sometime between midnight and noon on July 25, thieves entered an unlocked van and stole a woman's wallet, which contained credit cards and personal identi- fication. No damage to the vehi- cle was reported. Thieves also broke into a 1991 Pontiac Sunbird and stole a portable CD player, various CDs, and s sweater. The thieves also attempted to start the car, and damaged the ignition in the process, say police. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $500. In other police news, thieves broke into the Kinsmen Club hall in Port Perry and stole a set of snooker balls and six pool cues, say Durham Police. They entered the hall through a east side base- ment window sometime between July 24 and 28. No damage estimate was available.
