PA RR RR RRR RRR RRR EERE. 12 - PORT PERRY STAR - Wednesday, May 24, 2000 "Scugog"s Community Newspaper of Choice" Scugog councillors have approved two applications from Don Frew and Sons for the development of six lots in Cartwright. Three of the lots are on the west side of the Nestleton Rd. in North Nestleton, immediately north of the United Church cemetery. The other three lots are on the east side of Jack Rabbit Run. Scugog planning consultant Jim Dyment recommended approval of the lots, and there were no objections from other agencies. In other planning committee busi- ness: 0 An application to change the zoning designation on the Durham Regional Police station on Old Simcoe Rd. in Port Perry was submitted to council by Mike Cochrane, owner of the building. Mr. Cochrane told council last week that with the police due to move out to new a building in a year or so, he wants a zoning that would allow professional uses such as dentist, doctor, lawyer, chi- ropractor. Mr. Cochrane said the building would be ideal for a medical and sports rehab centre, operating in conjunction with the swimming pool and fitness centre in the building immediately to the north. In response to a question from the public gallery, Mr. Cochrane said he does not want zoning for retail sales, unless the new business had goods for sale related to health care. Council will make a decision on the zoning application in the next few weeks. 2 An application for four building lots on Old Simcoe Rd. south of Prince Albert was heard last week by township council. The lots, 75 feet by 280 feet, are on the east side of the road at Line Four and would be served with piped water and private septic systems. Ward 2 Councillor Ken Carruthers said he wants the developer to build a side- walk in front of the four lots. The proper- ty in question is owned by William Planning committee okays six lots in North Nestleton Labonovich. A storm water management plan would have to be created for drainage of the lots, council stipulated. 0 A zoning change for two residential lots near Seagrave was heard last week by Scugog council. The lots in question are owned by Mrs. L. Bruce, and are located on the west side of Brunon Ave. at the intersection with Puckrin Road. Each lot will have a minimum size of 5,060 square metres, with minimum frontage of 44 metres. They will be ser- viced with private wells and septic sys- tems.
