Trust everyone within reach will be able to go home and see dad. Caesarea's Ratepayer's Assoc. We are very thankful this week to have received a very liberal cheque from Pauline of Sunnyside Market to help finance our Canada celebrations Saturday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m. The fireworks have all been ordered and everything appears to be in place for a great evening. It was very gratifying to receive the great response about the village signs. Forty-seven votes for the vertical called A and 22 for the horizontal called B. Your other remarks will be taken into consideration. Thanks folks. Need more volunteers to help with the grass cut- ting of the main street. Glad to report all trees donated by the Blackstock Lions are doing great. Look for the green and yellow stakes. Blackstock Lions Club We all had a very relax- ing afternoon and evening at what we call The Presidents Bash at Lions Bruce and Eleanor Colwell's home at Williams Point right on the lake. It was just one peach of a day enjoyed by all. Thanks Bruce and Eleanor. During the year we Caesarea Jy have different women's organizations making our dinner twice a month for our meetings. This Wednesday, we the Lions, are making the dinner for these caterers who serve us through the year. Entertainment will follow the dinner. If you see Dora and Merlin Suggitt this Friday, June 18 wish them the best on their anniversary. Next major project for Lions is their food booth - at the Tractor Pull the evening of July, 2 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. "Cartwright High School We are thankful to the students and staff of the school who gave the senior's such a great con- ~ cert last Wednesday. Also the cold drinks, coffee, tea with the cakes and cook- ies were excellent. Thank you one and all. Lake Scugog Historical Society For the past two Sunday. evenings Alex Ingram has had a concert at the Head Church at the museum grounds. This coming Sunday - evening, June 20, will be his last performance for this spring series. It's a great variety hour of music and laughter. The Historical Society is plan- ning a field trip using Kerrs buses for Wednesday, Aug. 11. First a coffee stop at Orillia and a look at the Mariposa Market, then on to Sainte Marie among the Hurons at Midland. Then we will have lunch. After this we have an option of explor- ing the Shrine and visit the Huron Museum and Huron Indian village or take a walk through the Wye Marsh. . Then we leave for Stephen Leacock National Historic site near Orillia and we expect to arrive back at Kerrs around 7:30 p.m. Come along and bring your friends. The Nonquon and Scugog Sprints financial side of the events were read out at last Thursday's meeting and were most gratifying thanks to our contestants who participated. 'Gardens of Uxbridge' tour offered again Eight Uxbridge gardens, some old, some new, will be open to the public as Community Care sponsors its third annual "Gardens of Uxbridge" garden tour, Saturday, July 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p-m Heron Toronto Books, Street Quaker "Tickets are $10 and include a tour map. They can be purchased at Blue Pharmacy or the Community Care office, 852-7445. Pharmacy, "Gardens of Uxbridge" is a fundrais- ing event for Community Care, an orga- nization providing home support ser- vices for seniors and adults with special needs as well as a mental health pro- gram for adults. Light refreshments will be served at the Uxbridge Seniors Centre throughout the afternoon for those who take the tour. At noon, a sandwich lunch will be available for $5.
