Nestleton Presbyterian Church Sunday, Feb. 7 The regular church service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wm. Fairley officiating. Ushers were George Kleinjan and Harvey Mills. Joyce Taylor was welcomed back after some holidays, as organist. Shirley Mills was in charge of Sunday School. Rev. Fairley spoke of the Miracle of the calm- ing of the sea, and in the sermon the topic was "Righteousness." Lunch and social time were enjoyed and church calendars were sold. Sunday, Feb. 14 Rev. Wm. Fairley, minister of Nestleton Presbyterian Church spoke on "Transfiguration Sunday." Joyce Taylor was organ- ist, and Graham Ham and George Kleinjan were ushers. There was an excellent atten- dance at Sunday School, and all enjoyed a celebration of St. Valentine following the service. In the sermon, Rev. Fairley's message was "Day thyself - take up your cross and follow Me." The World Day of Prayer, will be held in the Nestleton Community Centre on Friday, March 5. Blue Ray Chapter Blue Ray Chapter welcomed the Grand Officers of Ontario to a delicious dinner before the February meeting. A capacity crowd attended this special meeting. All were delighted to witness the presentation of a Masonic Pin to Richard Windsor by the Worthy Grand Patron for all the dedication and work that Richard had done over the years for the Blood Donors Clinic. Also the Worthy Grand Matron appointed Judy Davidson to be a Grand Page at the Grand Sessions in August at the Constellation Hotel, in Toronto. Members were urged to go the villa on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m. to help the residents celebrate their February birth- days. Don't forget Tuesday, Feb. 16 at the Blackstock United Church, the pancake supper starting at 4:30 p.m. All are wel- come. Scugog Island United Church On Sunday morning we welcomed Madalynn Suzanne Slade into our church family through Baptism. Madalynn is the daughter of Andrew and Danielle Slade and the proud grandparents are Jim and Norma Tower. Following the service the men prepared and served a delicious pan- cake lunch. It was a won- derful opportunity for fel- lowship and a chance to bid our goodbyes to the Sewells. The Wellness Group will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. at S.1.U.C. Moms and Tots and Friends will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 9:30 a.m. at S.1.U.C. Choir practice will be held on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. A Thinking Day Service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 9:45 a.m. There will be a Lenten Study which will serve as preparation for confirma- tion or baptism. All are welcome. It will be held on Monday nights at 7:45 p.m. during Lent. If you are not a member of Scugog Island United Church and you would like to consider taking this step, come to this study.
