Entered into rest at Lakeridge Health Cor- poration, Oshawa on Thursday, January 14, 1999 in his 90th year. Beloved husband (55 years) of Bessie (Baines) of Brooklin. Loved father of sons Francis and Nancy of Stonewall, Manitoba, Ronald and San- dra of Port Perry and John and Maureen of Oshawa, much loved grandfather of Matthew, Andrew, David, Mark, Sara, Emily, Bryan and Jenna. Stafford was bom in London, England, January 1, 1910. Prior to coming to Canada in 1921 Stafford was in Dr. Barnardo's home for children. Once in Canada, Stafford went to the Marchmont Home in Belleville. He was taken from the home by Mrs. Lillian Kirdey and son Frank of Port Perry to be a companion to Mrs. Kirley. Unfortunately, both Mrs. Kiley and her son passed away within a few months of each other. Soon after Stafford was once again alone, as fate would have it's way Mr. and Mrs. Wickens of Madoc, friends of the Kirley's, took Stafford to live with them and their two sons in 1926. He made his home with them until getting married in 1943, while driving transport for Mr. Bate Tanner for seven years. In 1944 Stafford went to work for Parkwood Farms, (now Winfields Farm), where he worked for six years and then on the Cluaran Farms to work for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robson where he later retired to his home in Brooldin in 1981. Friends were received by the family at MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN, 79 Baldwin Street, Brookin, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. A celebration of Stafford's life will be held from Brooklin United Church Tues- day, January 19 at 2 p.m. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to "The Chil- dren's Wish Foundation of Canada" and may be made at the Funeral Chapel or sent to (Children's Wish Foundation of Canada) Ontario Chapter, 30- 1730 McPherson Court, Ajax, ON.
