Marion Lee is looking for bikers with heart At the age of 72 Marion Lee may seem an unlikely 'biker', but that's what she'll be doing Thursday (July 9) when the Heart and Stroke Foundation's 'Big Bike' comes to town. Teams of 29 riders mount the bike and tour the town. The cost of a seat on the bike is a donation to : FN @/p\ -- Otarts Now Ron NLA) HRA = <=' the heart and stroke fund. Mrs. Lee, who will be riding on the Scugog Chamber of Commerce team, has been placing pledge jars all over town. The well-known community volunteer has a special reason for raising money on behalf of heart research. Over 20 years ago Mrs. Lee's husband Ralph under- went triple bypass heart surgery. After undergoing what was then a relatively new procedure, Mr. Lee was given only about six months of life expectancy. But thanks to new medications and treatment techniques, the couple will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary later this month. "If it were not for research, he wouldn't still be with me," Mrs. Lee said. "So I'm more than happy to raise money for this cause.' The Scugog Chamber of Commerce still has seats on the team available for the ride that will take place on July 9, at 7:45 p.m. Anyone interested in riding the Big Bike can contact Heather at 985-2635 .
