Lending library to hold registration Scugog Toy Lending Li- brary invites anyone in- terested in joining for the 1997/98 season to attend the annual meeting and membership registration on May 22 at 7 p.m. at the Port Perry United Church. Scugog Toy Lending Li- brary (STLL) is a non- profit co-operative organi- zation dedicated to bring- ing children under six and their parents/caregivers together with other fami- lies in a friendly and stim- ulating atmosphere. Their goal is to provide a fun place to learn, play and so- cialize. STLL- operates on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. from September to early June in the basement of the Port Perry United Church. Alendinginventory con- sists of toys, children's vid- eos, games, books, puzzles and a steadily increasing selection of parent re- source books and videos for our members to enjoy. The aim is to offer families access to age appropriate high quality toys in a friendly social atmos- phere. During operating hours different areas are set up including a gross motor room with a large wooden climber, a quiet room for books and puzzles as well as story time, a puppet theatre and large play area with area for small motor toys and a craft ta- ble, a coffee and snack area and on special occa- i sions the auditorium is used for large parties. STLL has been in opera- tion for eight years thanks to the sponsorship of Port Perry United Church and the participation and en- thusiasm of all its mem- bers.
